Thorgan Hazard has a dream to face Chelsea in the European Champions League this season. There are two reasons why Hazard is enthusiast to face the London giant which have sent him on loan term to Germany club. First is his team, Borussia Monchengladbach managed to qualify to the European highest tournament this season and the second is to face his brother Eden Hazard and his team Chelsea.
The 22 years old attacking midfielder joined Chelsea in 2012 following his elder brother Eden but he was sent to Zulte Waregem on loan term. During his time in the Germany Bundesliga with Waregem, Thorgan managed to win Belgium’s Professional Footballer of the year. Thorgan then moved to Gladbach on loan initially, in 2014.
As Gladbach successfully finished Bundesliga in the third place last season, one ticket for the 2015-2016 Champions League is a good chance to reunite with his brother. Thorgan is really looking forward to playing the match against Chelsea to prove his quality.
“I have never played against my brother Eden. That would be a big thing for the whole family. Then we would find out who’s the better Hazard,” Thorgan told Bild.
Thorgan once said that we would like to come back to Chelsea to play with his brother Eden. He has proved his resolve together with Gladbach in Bundesliga and Europa League with promising stats. In Bundesliga, Thorgan made 28 appearances in which he appeared seven times in the starting line-up. While in the Europa League, he appeared nine times and made three goals and three assists.
Thorgan believes that he is making a good progress during his time with Glabach. He hopes that he will have more appearances for the team in the next season and of course he has to compete with other players to fight for the chance in the line-up.
“I learnt a lot last season. I think I have become a better player, because I played in one of the best leagues in the world. Of course I hope to play a little more next season, but I know there is huge competition. That is normal at a big club. I will have to work hard and play good to prevail,” said Thorgan.
Surprisingly both Eden and Thorgan now have the same shirt number. Thorgan just received number 10 for the next season in Gladbach. Both players also have almost similar position, it will be a showdown if they meet at the Champions League match.
