Napoli finally their first title in 2014 after beating Juventus in Italian Cup Final in a penalty shootout. Both team play a draw 2 – 2 game after 120 minutes before they go into a penalty shootout. Juventus score the first goal in fifth minute by the goal from Carlos Tevez, before Napoli equalize it on the second half and the match go into Extra Time. In the extra time period, Juventus get another lead by the goal from Carlos Tevez on 106′, but Il Partenopei make a comeback two minutes from the final whistle by the goal from Gonzalo Higuain. Napoli finally claim their title after Rafael parry Simone Padoin’s shot and Napoli win 6 – 5 on the penalty shootout.
Juventus get their early lead by the goal from Carlos Tevez on the fifth minutes after he steals the ball from the Napoli defender before he place a right foot shot into the net. Marek Hamsik almost equalize the score on 16′ after his shot deflected by Giorgio Chiellini, but the ball still hit the bar. Tevez almost score his second goal after receive a pass from Fernando Llorente, but his shot still can be saved by Rafael on 22′. Hamsik and Higuain almost get Napoli leveled, but both of their shot still wide.
Juventus get another chance when Stephen Lichsteiner dribble the ball to cut inside the penalty area from the right side, but his shot still can be parried by Rafael. Buffon keep the lead after he saves a curling shot from Gonzalo Higuain a few minutes before the break, and Napoli get their final chance on the first half but the freekick from Faouzi Ghoulam still hit the wall. The first half ends, Juventus lead 1 – 0.
On the second half, Napoli get their first chance by the play of Jose Callejon. The Spaniard release a shot to far post of Gigi Buffon’s goal but it still goes wide. On 60′, Higuain almost get his goal but his chip shot still hit the bar.
Napoli finally level the match after Jonathan De Guzman send a cross from the left field and Higuain get a free header to put the ball to the back of the net. Juventus 1 Napoli 1.
Juventus increase the game tempo after the goal of Higuain and almost get their lead on 73′. but Carlos Tevez’s shot still can be saved by Rafael. Vidal miss his chance after his shot fails to meet the net even when he’s in an open wide position. Both team are level and the match continue to extra time.
In the first half of extra time, Rafael becomes a hero after he saves some Juventus chances and the score remains level. In the second half, Tevez gives Juventus another lead after he receive a pass from Paul Pogba and release a shot into the right side of the net. Juventus 2 Napoli 1. Juventus almost bag the Cup home, but Higuain break it to make the match level once more after he finds the target two minutes before the final whistles and the match goes to penalty shootout.
