One of the former Man United players, Phil Neville, parted company with Man United last summer. The former full-back, Phil Neville, has been involved in the coaching staff at Valencia, the Spanish club has announced the recruitment. Phil Neville, who is 38 years old, worked at Man United as the coach under the former boss David Moyes yet was not kept on after the Scot was off the throne and replaced by Van Gaal at the end of 2013-2014 season.
The former England International has been appointed as Valencia’s assistant manager, where he will be on board under the manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Phil Neville will come up against David MOyes, the former boss, in La Liga next term, with the former Everton coach being in charge at Real Sociedad. As a defender, Phil Nevilla made three hundred sixty eight appearances for Man United before taking part in Everton in 2005. The current club where he works, Valencia, finished fourth in the last season, just one point left behind Atletico Madrid, the third contestant in La Liga
A statement on his current club’s official website read: “ Valencia FC are happy to announce the recruitment of Phil Neville as the assistant coach of the main squad, joining the coaching executives headed by Nuno Espirito Santo. “The ex-Man United and Everton defender has occupied the assistant position at Old Trafford, under both Moyes and the interim substitution by another ex-Man United player, Ryan Giggs. Phil Neville has been reported to offer a wealth of the game and footballing experience to a team showing a constant growth for the last couple of seasons. With the experience and knowledge he possesses, there is no doubt that Phil Neville can be such a great source and guidance in going through the upcoming season.
Phil Neville has been known as one of the most fantastic defenders. He has won fifty nine caps for the national team and scooped a number of prestigious trophies, including the UEFA Champions league, 6 Premier League trophies, and 3 FA Cups during his time with Man United. He finished a 19-year playing odyssey at Everton in 2013 prior to turning his focus to being in charge of being the coach. The 41-year old Nuno Espirito Santo, who was in charge of Valencia last summer, said in a press conference “Phil Neville has massive experience at the highest level of competition, yet above all he has the passion and insights as well as values that will fit entirely with our club and our team”
