Premier League’s Worst Transfers

European season coming to a close, and after all the winnings and titles, we will looks at the 20 worst signings of 2014-2015 based on player performance, value for money and future potential.

At the bottom list, Lukas Podolski who enjoyed the season in loan term from Arsenal to Inter. The Nerazzurri thought they’d secured a good deal by having the World-Cup winner for the second half of the season.

The thought proved to be wrong as Podolski was a failure from day one at Inter, scoring just one goal and performing terribly. We also have YannM’vila who played as a loan in Inter from Rubin Kazan. His star has waned in the past year or so, and he is no longer the hot property he once was.

Real Madrid signed Lucas Silva for €14 million from Cruzeiro and made just four starts under Carlo Ancelotti. Fernando Torres plays in AC Milan as a loan from Chelsea and he truly was a disastrous signing for FilippoInzaghi and scored just one goal before being dumped in January.

Adrian Ramos signed by Borussia Dortmund for €9 and unmistakably having such an embarrassing term by having only two goals in 16 Bundesliga games.

Roma got Ashley Cole by in free transfer deal from Chelsea where he stumbled his way through his first and probably the only season at the StadioOlimpico.
Real Sociedad signed Alfred Finnbogason from Heerenveen for €7.5 million and giving pitiful contribution in the La Liga campaign. Sao Paulo released Douglas to Barcelona for €5 million and found this first-team player struggled so badly by having only five appearances.

Alessio Cerci was taken by Atletico Madrid for €18 million from Torino and realized that he did not well-adapted to Diego Simeone’s style.

Juan Cuadrado made his move from Fiorentina to Chelsea with €35 million bid, but he played little part in the Mourinho’s men successful campaign in Premier League and League Cup. Liverpool agreed to give €25 million to get DejanLovren from Southampton.

Labelled as the new Jamie Carragher in the beginning, his performance this season is more likely to be the new DjimiTraore. Chelsea released Andre Schurrle for €30 million bid, and one goal in 14 Bundesliga games has seen him go from nailed-on starter.

Doria signed by Marseille from Botafogo for €7 million and did not have any game at all under Marcelo Bielsa’s control. Ciro Immobile has been restricted to short cameos after signing Borussia Dortmund from Torino for €20 million. Liverpool tied Mario Balotelli for €20 million from AC Milan and scored only one Premier League goal all season.

RadamelFalcao played for Manchester United as loan from Monaco and little did they know that he would go on to score just four times in 26 league games. Move from Arsenal to Barcelona for €20 million, Thomas Vermaelen has become a classic transfer disaster.

Having a huge turnaround, Juan Manuel Iturbe will be one of the most expensive flops in Roma history as the club agreed €30 million deal with Hellas Verona.

Second in the list is EliaquimMangala who came to Manchester City for €40 million from Porto. The Frenchman has endured a debut Premier League season to forget. Angel di Maria stands in the first number as he struggled horribly in Manchester United and never looked settled there following €75 million move from Real Madrid.
