Juventus midfielder star, Arturo Vidal has squashed speculations that he could leave the club this summer, by saying “why would I want to leave?”
He was heavily linked with Manchester United last summer, but a move failed to materialize as the Red Devils signed Daley Blind and Ander Herrera. Recent reports claimed that that he could finally make the move at the end of this campaign. Even the Daily Stars claims that the last summer speculation is currently happening, Vidal is still on Louis van Gaal’s radar. Manchester City have also been strongly linked to the Chile international.
Recent reports even suggested that Vidal could be back on the market this summer, with a bargain £14 million asking price being mentioned. His future has been a source of speculation again in recent week, and media reports have claimed that the Old Trafford club are still considering a summer move for the South American star.
Vidal joined Serie A club Juventus in 2011 for €10.5 million on a five-year contract. He is considered one of the most complete midfielders in the world due to his tackling abilities and his ability to support the team in both defense and attack at a high level. The Chilean became an integral part of the Bianconeri and has made a name for himself as one of the best in the world. He has been a regular fixture in Juventus’ first-team this season, scoring six goals and making two assists in 21 Serie A appearances.
The Chilean international, however, has ruled out any departure issue. He clearly has no reason to leave Juventus, but he offered several considerations why he denied all of the transfer speculations. Even after battling back from a knee injury at the start of the season, he insists he is not thinking about a move.
“I am fine in Turin and my family feels at home here,” Vidal explained. “Why should I leave? I get on very well with everyone at the club.”
According to Vidal, the most important thing for any player is to win trophies and to become part of the club’s history, and it is hard for him to think about leaving Juventus, “when you have been crowned champions and you are part of a great team.”
With Vidal in the squad, Juventus have only lost once in Serie A this season, meaning they currently hold a 14 point lead over second place of Roma. The former Borussia Dortmund man also discussed tomorrow’s Champions League second leg with Dortmund, but admits the League is the Bianconeri’s main focus.
